Our visit to Saarbrücken began with a tour of the Ludwigskirche, a beautiful Protestant church located in the heart of the city. An aspect that struck me was the incorporation of the Lutheran principle of the division of church and state. On one side of the church, there was the pulpit and the organ that represent the divine kingdom. On the other side, there was the ruler's box that represented the earthly kingdom.
